To the eight minute surviving footage (the original is thought to have been longer) we have added ambient sound effects and period music written by Oshkosh composers of the early twentieth century. The songs heard in order are Winnebago Shore, Sweet Slumber, Winnebago Shore (again) and Winnebago. For more information about the music (complete with downloadable copies of the sheet music) see below. The music was reproduced on computer by Bruce Atwell of UW Oshkosh's Music Department. The digitized film was produced by Brian Ledwell, UW Oshkosh multimedia developer. Photographs and interpretative text were supplied by Scott Cross, archivist, Oshkosh Public Museum. The project and website were designed and managed by Joshua Ranger, university archivist, UW Oshkosh. Special thank you to the Grand Opera House for allowing the use of a modern image of their interior for the"virtual movie theater." |
